SUF becomes Dementia Friendly
Thank you to Jim for coming in to SUF today for a Dementia Friends session with staff and trustees.
The Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Friends programme is an initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia.
Dementia touches the lives of millions of people across the UK – directly through the disease and also many family, friends and carers of those with dementia. Dementia Friends was launched to tackle the stigma and lack of understanding that means many people with the condition experience loneliness and social exclusion. We need to create more communities and businesses that are dementia friendly so that people affected by dementia feel understood and included.
If your organisation or group would like a Dementia Friends session we would recommend it as a great introduction to better understanding of dementia.
