News Update and Save the Date – Event information
On 28th February 2017, the two Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG’s) (Ipswich & East CCG and West Suffolk CCG), together with SUF and Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust (NSFT) began open conversations about how we can work together to improve access to mental health care services in Suffolk. This workshop focused on the roles of the Trust’s Access and Assessment Teams and their community teams known as the Integrated Delivery Teams.
The workshop included presentations from John Hague (GP), SUF, and NSFT. They started a very open and honest dialogue, with recent experiences from service users, family carers, staff, GP’s and NSFT’s managers. Following this meeting, feedback was pulled together and a number of meetings were planned to support everyone to work together to review how improvements could take place as well as support us all to begin working towards the longer term objectives set out in the Five Year Forward View (NHS England – to find out more please follow this link Five Year Forward View ).
This work has involved weekly meetings looking at how crisis care can be improved, how we can develop a more streamlined and supportive approach for everyone to feel confident about how to get help when people need it most. It has also included a review of the role and support offered within the Integrated delivery teams. Each of the meetings has included service users and family carers supported by SUF to be involved, to share and develop ideas.
A workshop is now planned for Wednesday 26th July 2017 and we would welcome everyone who is interested to hear more about the work undertaken and the idea’s for improving services that have been explored, working together to ensure more responsive and supportive mental health care in Suffolk.
