Role: Healthy Together Peer Support Worker
About me
I have lived experience of mental illness and of the common challenges faced when accessing support via primary and secondary care services. About my work
I joined SUF as a Peer Support Worker (PSW) on the, “Healthy Together”, team in May of 2022. I truly enjoy my role and I have been fortunate enough to join a very passionate, friendly, and proactive team dedicated to championing the voice of our service users.
As a PSW on the Healthy Together project I enjoy supporting people following their annual SMI health check to address health concerns and increase access to local services.
Some of my previous roles include working as an Employment Adviser within the health and wellbeing department of an employment support program, Drug and Alcohol recovery worker for Open Road and mental health support worker.
I have also previously undertaken voluntary roles within substance misuse with Open Road.
