Week two of our Five Ways to Wellbeing is called Be Active– it all about increasing our physical activity.
Being active is not only great for our physical health but for our mental health too. Activity releases chemicals called endorphins and serotonin that improve our mood.
Being more active every day, building in exercise, helps us all to reduce stress and symptoms of mental health conditions like depression, anxiety and helps with recovery from mental health issues.
Activity increases our sense of wellbeing. We feel more energetic throughout the day, sleep better at night, our memory improves, and we feel more relaxed and positive about ourselves and our lives.
